TikTok, a video-sharing app that allows users to create and share 15-second videos, is working on new in-app features like live-streamed shopping, similar to QVC, according to the Financial Times.
Users can purchase products with a few clicks after watching a quasi-infomercial. Another new feature will allow businesses to display product catalogs.
Also, users with a large number of subscribers will be able to insert their links to products and receive a commission from their sale.
The app aims to monetize the audience and provide tools for companies to make money. TikTok e-commerce features may be available already this year.
