Russian FC Zenit St. Petersburg Releases Blockchain Collectible Cards of its Players

Russian Premier League soccer club Zenit St. Petersburg has created blockchain collectible cards of its players. The top soccer club has signed on Sorare platform, a fantasy football game based on Ethereum blockchain.Zenit players will be marketed as digital collectible and tradeable cards within the blockchain-based game and thus Zenit St. Petersburg will join 100 other international soccer clubs including PSG, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, and Atletico Madrid.The player cards can be traded with other managers, players can play games moment they have a minimum of 5 cards. The score of each player card is linked to their actual performance in the football league tables.

Sorare platform aims to create a global fantasy soccer blockchain game featuring the top 10 leagues in the world. Launched in March 2019, Sorare has 40,000 users worldwide.
