The Chinese province of Yunnan, famed for its dark variety of tea, has announced the launch of a blockchain-based platform for traceability of tea from its Pu’er tea farms.
The platform will be used for managing quality control, as well as sale and loan financing operations on 42,000 hectares of farmland across the province.
By scanning QR codes on the new platform, customers are able to review product’s composition, production process, product sales, financial support, and other data.
The Pu’er tea industry’s interest in the blockchain technology dates back to 2019. The Chinese province wanted to integrate traceability solutions based on blockchain technology from some time.
