Customers of Australian cryptocurrency exchange Bitcoin.com.au will be able to pay for Bitcoin at more than 3,500 local post offices.
“We’re proud of this partnership and would like to thank Australia Post for their continued openness to new technologies,” the exchange’s C.E.O. Holger Arians said.
He added that he believes the new payment option will make some people more comfortable buying crypto. Bitcoin.com.au users were already able to pay for Bitcoin at 1500 retail outlets in the Blueshyft payment network. Bitcoin automated teller machines recently crossed the milestone of 8,000 units installed around the world.
As previously reported, Coca-Cola Amatil partnered with digital asset integrator Centrapay to allow paying for Coke in vending machines in cryptocurrency across Australia and New Zealand. The Coke vending machines will accept payments in cryptocurrency with a scan of the user’s phone’s camera, provided that the Sylo Smart Wallet is installed.
