World’s First Foldable Smartphone was Represented at CES 2019

The Royole FlexPai, a foldable smartphone has been officially represented at CES 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The smartphone is already available as a ‘developer version’ on the Royole’s website. Royole is yet to announce the FlexPai release date for the final model. 7.8-inch AMOLED display that folds in half to form a usable smartphone. At CES, Royole has shown off production models that actually work pretty well.The developer version of the Royole FlexPai starts at $1,318 for the 128GB version, the 256GB developer FlexPai costs $1,469.

According to the company’s CEO Liu, Royole isn’t just going to be a one-and-done smartphone maker. Liu hasn’t ruled out the idea of just supplying foldable screens to other smartphone makers. Join to our Telegram channel to be always up-to-date with the latest news of the cryptocurrency space.While Royole’s smartphone is the first, it is expected competition to arrive in the following months, with the hotly rumored Samsung Galaxy X likely to lead the charge, while LG, Huawei and Xiaomi are also all tipped to launch foldable phones in 2019.

As a reminder, Apple patented a both way foldable display last month.  Apple’s patent suggests a slightly different form of implementation, with the patent sketches hinting at a device that seems to be able to fold both inward and outward.
